  King Wachirawut Museum

The King Wachirawut Museum is located at the Territorial Defence Command in Bangkok's Phra Nakhon area, opposite of Wat Poh. It is dedicated to the military and civil contributions of King Rama VI.

 

It is a military museum to the core, displaying old rifles, machine guns and army uniforms from the reign of King Wachirawut, as well as the royal attire, old uniforms, medals and military epaulettes of this king.

Besides a statue and portraits of the king, there are also old photos of ceremonies in which the king presents medals and colours to regiments of the Royal Thai Army, as well as on the activities of the Wild Tiger Corps (fig.), which he founded in 1911.
