  mayong

Thailand

Mayong are plum-like fruits with a thin yellowish-orange skin. They are similar to maprahng (fig.), but slightly bigger in size.

When ripe, they taste somewhat sweet-and-sour, rather than sweet. Yet, ripe mayong have no resin in the fruit, whereas maprahng do. They are commonly known as marian plums and generally referred to as Plum Mango.
