Besides the commonly found attitude of reclining Buddha images, in which the Buddha is holding his right hand underneath his head (fig.), there are at least two other varieties. In the attitude above, the Buddha's right arm is held in front of his belly, with the hand pointing towards his left hip. This pose is known as pahng phayahkon and refers to the Buddha making a prophesy.
