This eleven meters in length, five meters in width and four meters high bronze statue of the 'Eight Immortals Crossing the Ocean' from Chinese mythology stands in Anek Kuson Sala in Chonburi. It is probably the largest of its kind in the world and weighs about 1,000 kilos. From left to right the immortals are Tsao Kuo-chiu (fig.), Ho Hsien-ku (fig.), Chang Kuo Lao (fig.), Chung-li Chuan (fig.), Lu Tong-pin (fig.), Han Hsiang Tzu (fig.), Li Tieh-kuai (fig.) and Lan Tsai-ho (fig.). Most of the immortals have been introduced into Japanese mythology, where they received Japanese names and are collectively known as the Seven Gods of Fortune (fig.).
