  Georgetown

Malaysia

Georgetown, located on the Northeast corner of Penang Island, is separated from Butterworth on the mainland by the Selatan Strait, which connects with the Strait of Malacca, the world's busiest sea route and part of the South China Sea.

A 13.5 kilometer long bridge, the longest in Malaysia, connects the island with the mainland (here seen in the right upper corner).
