Statue of the heroes of Korat who, led by Lady Suranari, in 1826 drove away a 3,000 strong Laotian army, thus liberating their city. They then joined up with the troops of the capital in order to drive the enemy further from Thai territory. The ox cart is a typical traditional model of the Isaan region (fig.).
