The
Indian Roller is
a member of the roller family of birds, near passerines related to the
kingfishers and
bee-eaters
(fig.).
It has a light brown back, a metallic green crown, whilst the underparts,
face, wings and tail are of a mixed bluish-grey and amethyst colour.
