The Li Jing Gate was the western entrance to the outer city wall of Luoyang City during the Sui Dynasty and is today still the entrance to Lao Cheng, i.e. the old quarters of this former capital city, founded in ca. 1036 BC by Zhou Gong, i.e. the Duke of Zhou (fig.).
