Bronze image of King Naresuan, who in 1593 freed Ayutthaya from the yoke of Burma in a duel with the Burmese crown prince, fought on the backs of elephants. He was King of Ayutthaya from 1590 until 1605, and is considered one of the Great Kings in Thai history (fig.).
