Fon Nok Kingkarah, i.e. the  Kinnari Bird Dance, here accompanied with a type of northern style sword dance known locally as Fon Dahb, performed at Mae Hong Son Airport by the local Shan people of northern Thailand. These traditional dances originate from Myanmar's Shan State (fig.) and have been introduced to Thailand by the local Thai Yai communities.

The creature in the front is known as Toh (fig.), a mythological compound animal, consisting of the body of a lion with two deer-like horns or antlers on its head. This animal from Lan Na folklore often occurs in local festivals (fig.).
