Very toxicity spines and though listed as the most venomous fish in the world, it is unlikely to prove lethal.

In Thai, Reef Stonefish (fig.) are known as pla karang hua khon, i.e.khon mask coral fish’, and refers to its shape as seen from aside, which is reminiscent of a Thai khon mask (fig.).

 

In the pictures here, these fish indeed show the outlines of a chadah-style crown and the head of a human, reusi or yak figure, including a chin, nose and eyes.

VENOMOUS! Although this ray-finned fish has very toxic spines and is listed as the most venomous fish in the world, it is unlikely to prove lethal. Its sting causes severe local pain, swelling and bruising, with usually bluish skin discolouration surrounding the sting puncture mark, and symptoms that may include headache, nausea, vomiting, and collapse.
