A juvenile Scarlet-backed Flowerpecker, perching in a takhob tree near Mae Taeng, in Chiang Mai province.

 

Like females, juveniles are brownish olive above and pale below, yet with a slightly darker crown and nape. The legs and feet are grey, and the bill is pinkish-orange with a dark tip.

They  have orange-tinged uppertail-coverts, but those are not visible in these pictures.
