  borikaan

Myanmar

The razor is an atborikaan, i.e. one of the eight personal items that monks and novices are allowed to posses and which together are known as borikaan.

The other eight permitted articles Buddhist monks may have for daily life are an alms bowl called baat, their three-piece clothing called traijiewon, a needle, a water filter and an umbrella called klot.
