The pagri is a shawl-like piece of cloth, that is worn as a kind of headwear, manually wound around the top of the head of boys and men in India.

 

When the shawl is green in colour, which is considered the traditional colour of Islam and related to he state of the inhabitants of paradise as described in the Koran, it is customary worn by Muslims in India, and is simply referred to as green turban.
