A drum performance on a klong sabat chai in Chiang Mai. It consists of a large flat drum held on two horizontal poles by two carriers whilst the drummer plays it with his hands and elbows, as well as with his knees, moving about in a ceremonial manner.

It is a war drum from Lan Na, that in the past was beaten during battle in order to encourage the soldiers, and today is still seen in performing arts such as here and in processions.
