The actors in Chinese Opera, known in Thai as ngiw, are —sometimes heavily— covered with make-up called lian pu, in which the colours and patterns represent a certain cha-racter, as well as a quality of the individual.

In addition, the players dress in colourful  cos-tumes and more often than not they also wear conspicuous headdress-es, as seen with these souvenir figurines.
