phum mahk is 
an egg or pear-shaped arrangement, made from slices of  
		
betel nut 
and used as a ceremonial offering. It is sometimes also referred to as
mahk sum, though this name is also used for the 
tray on which the offering is 
placed and which is 
decorated at the top with four
			naga-figures
