  five-clawed dragon

Thailand

A porcelain figure of a Chinese nobleman wearing a cloth with a blue design of five-clawed Chinese dragons in combination with clouds or cloud scrolls. Whereas the five-clawed dragon, is reserved for the Emperor, dragons in general are ancient symbols of immortality, wisdom and might. The clouds or cloud scrolls on the other hand are symbols of a desirable destiny, as the Chinese word for cloud is homophonous with the word for luckiness’.
