	Laotian monks
	wind a

    sai sin, i.e. a
white  thread used in religion, around the
wrists of villagers on a Laotian island in the Mekong river. The sai sin is
	also
wound around the entire village in an annual ceremony called phra

    sut koh, i.e. ‘wind
    the island
    with a thread’. |
