  Koi Carp as mount of Kuan Yin

Kuan Yin, the Mahayana Buddhist goddess of mercy, has a huge Koi Carp as her mount, a vahana that allegedly is be able to subdue demons and malicious beings, and is sometimes, as is here, depicted with the head of a dragon (fig.).

 

Though Kuan Yin, known in Thai as Phra Mae Kwan Im, is generally depicted as standing on this big fish (fig.), she may at times also be portrayed in a seated pose.
