Bottlenose Dolphin

Common name for a marine mammal of the genus Tursiops, which are the most common oceanic dolphins of the family Delphinidae, with the scientific name Tursiops truncatus. They are highly intelligent and skilled swimmers that often hunt in group, driving fish together by releasing air bubbles  from their blowhole. It gets its name from its elongated snout, which is called a rostrum. Besides the Common Bottlenose Dolphin, there are two other species, namely the Indo-Pacific Bottlenose Dolphin (Tursiops aduncus) and the Burrunan Dolphin (Tursiops australis), but usually only the former may be found off the coast of Thailand.
