  muay boraan (ancient-style Thai boxing)

Thailand

Muay khaak cheuak, the predecessor of modern muay thai, is still practiced today as part of the Thailand's cultural heritage. Boxers practicing this style of boxing, typically wear a rope wrapped around the fists and forearms, as well as pah nung of which the front end is brought up and fold between the legs to the back, where it is stuck behind the belt.

These boxers are demonstrating some of the typical poses used in the sport, in front of a poster of Wat Phra Sri Sanphet in Ayutthaya (fig.), the cradle of this fighting sport.
