Subankhiri is a yak character who is depicted with a green complexion and bulging tah phlohng, i.e. ‘wide open eyes’. He wears a chadah-style crown with several faces, similar to that of Totsakan (fig.), making the two hard to distinct. His weapon is a gada, i.e. a club or mace. At Wat Thipsukhontharam (fig.) in Kanchanaburi, he is erected in pair with Waiyawet (fig.), guarding Phra Phutta Mettaprachathai (fig.).
