		Wat Taan Jed Cho (วัดตาลเจ็ดช่อ)
			Thai. ‘Temple of the seven
sugar palm panicles’. Name of a Buddhist temple
																												in

			Angthong that features
			a life-sized bronze
Buddha image in a standing pose, which is able to float on water, and which is known as

Luang Pho Loi (fig.), literally ‘Floating

Luang Pho’. To demonstrate this ability, the temple has a special hangar-like hall with a large basin in which this bronze
Buddha image is regularly put in the water, horizontally. Despite its heavy weight,
said to be around 300 kilograms, the
over a century old bronze Buddha statue will not sink to the bottom but rather float on the surface of the water, believed by some to be a supernatural event, though
since it is hollow and sealed off at the bottom, there is of course nothing odd about this. Other attractions in the temple include
			statues of prominent

			Buddhist monks,
some life-sized and made from wax, as well as
two large resin statues of highly venerated Buddhist monks
(fig.), i.e. Luang Poo Thuad and Luang Poo Toh, while the temple's outdoor surroundings feature statues of characters, animals and objects from religion, legend and mythology,
			including one of

Shin U Pagok (fig.). See also
			cho and
ton taan, as well as TRAVEL PICTURE.
