			Mahanikaai 
			sect. It is the
			
			
	kuh bahn kuh meuang of 
			
						
			Trang 
			province, in southern Thailand, and is located in Trang's 
		      amphur 
			
	meuang, 
			i.e. the city's centre. It was reportedly built in 
			the reign of King 
			      
			      Rama V 
			as a place for provincial government officials 
			to perform their ceremonial duties. Its main attraction is a tall 
			white, golden-rimmed 
			      
			      
                  
			      pagoda, 
			consisting of a square base, five domes stacked upon each other whilst 
			decreasing in size, and a spire topped with a golden 
		      
		      
		      chat.
